Mastering
Mastering is the important final step of production before the album is sent to the
manufacturer. The aim here is to smooth out any imperfections and produce
a well-balanced final sound. The individual sound levels for each track are
adjusted and fades and track-pauses are added.
Technical info
Material to be mastered can be supplied via upload (gmmusic ftp available) or data
carrier such as CDr, DVD or USB sent via post.
All songs should be in separate wave-files (.wav) in 16-bit, 44.1 kHz
quality minimum (CD-quality).
For re-mastering of older recordings the material can also be supplied on vinyl
(33/45/78 rpm) or tape.
If you have any special instructions regarding the shaping of the sound,
fade-timings etc. please also include a text file with this information. Be
sure to also include the ISRC info if you require a physical master CD with
the ISRC codes embedded.
